Pilates Background
Feili holds dual certification in both Matwork and Equipment Pilates through APPI — giving her a movement-focused lens that informs how she approaches neck rehabilitation and headache management.
She brings experience across public hospital, community aged care and private practice settings, giving her a broad clinical perspective on how headache and neck pain present across different patient groups.
About Feili
Feili Zhang is a Senior Physiotherapist at Melbourne Headache Solutions in Fitzroy North. She graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) Honours from the University of Sydney and brings experience across public hospital, community aged care and private practice settings.
Like all our practitioners, Feili uses the Melbourne Migraine Protocol — a structured assessment framework designed to identify your unique migraine and headache drivers. Rather than applying a generic treatment, Feili uses the RESET framework (Regulate, Eliminate, Stabilise, Energise, Thrive) to map out exactly what is triggering your symptoms and what is preventing recovery.
Feili is particularly interested in helping people restore movement and function. Her approach combines education, targeted exercise, manual therapy and movement-based rehabilitation to support longer-term improvement and improve overall brain health. She frequently sees patients who describe having “headaches that start in the neck and travel over the head,” “jaw clenching that leads to a headache,” or “constant neck stiffness that never seems to go away.”
With a background in teaching Pilates, Feili is also a certified APPI Matwork Pilates instructor. This gives her a Pilates-informed approach to movement, control and rehabilitation, which can be especially useful for people managing neck pain, headache, jaw pain, or recurring musculoskeletal symptoms related to the head and neck.
Feili enjoys getting to know each person and working with them toward practical, meaningful goals. Her core aim is to empower her clients through education, targeted exercises and manual therapy to promote optimal movement and long-term quality of life, helping people feel their best and enjoy moving.
Feili uses the Melbourne Migraine Protocol and RESET framework to identify your unique triggers and build a clear, long-term plan — not just a short-term fix.
Feili’s Pilates background gives her a unique movement-focused approach to neck and headache rehabilitation — building strength and control rather than just treating symptoms.
Feili holds CPD dry needling certification at both Level 1 and Level 2, giving her advanced skills in this technique for neck and upper body pain relief.
Feili’s core aim is to empower patients through education and targeted exercise — helping people feel their best and enjoy moving.
Who Feili Is Best Suited For
Feili is particularly well-suited to people whose headaches are closely linked to jaw clenching (TMJ issues) or chronic neck stiffness, as well as patients who want to actively build strength and resilience through Pilates-based rehabilitation rather than relying solely on passive treatment.

Your first appointment is a thorough assessment. There is no obligation to continue, and you will leave with a clear understanding of what may be driving your symptoms.
Feili will take a detailed history of your headaches, assess your neck and jaw movement, and evaluate your overall postural strength. She will then outline a clear rehabilitation plan.
Hands-on manual therapy to relieve immediate tension, followed by specific, guided exercises to begin strengthening the muscles that support your neck and head.
